Can the Drill Down be increased when there is visible surface contamination or oxidation?

The Rigaku Red Laser KT-100/100S allows the user to set the Drill Down time.  For most surfaces, setting drill down mode to “Low” will remove surface contamination and improve data quality.  For heavier contamination or for high silicon on the surface of cast aluminums, use “Medium” drill down setting.
